Also if you have the newer PSVita 2000 model, there is a grip that comes with L2/R2 buttons which according to the reviews work great and I suggest getting that. You can remote play on the vita half-way across the globe, you can remote play while in a car(not driving of course) going on a road trip, or at a hotel, a friend's house, distance relative's house. When all of that is okay just connect the vita up to the internet you want(which can even be your phone's wifi hotspot/tethering too btw) and start remote play up like normal. Even port forwarding doesn't work.I have since switched ISPs and have no problems now. Their 2-Wire wireless router does NOT support UPnP which is a requirement for out-of-home remote play. Test this with in the PS4 browser and the Vita browser, the default speed test tool in the internet settings can be very inaccurate.ĮDIT: If you have AT&T U-Verse internet, even if all above are good, you still wont be able to out-of-home remote play. Make sure you have a 5Mb/s+ -upload- connection on the PS4 at home and a 5Mb/s+ -download- connection on the Vita wherever it is connected to(need more than 5Mb/s upload if you wanted remote play to work at 60fps). Make sure the PS4 is connected with a wired connection to help with the added latency of using an out-of-home network connection.(it can be wireless, but HIGHLY recommend wired connection for out-of-home remote plays) Make sure you have "enable turning on ps4 from network" checkmarked in the remote play portion of your PS4 settings(this allows you to be able to turn your PS4 on while it is on standby with the Vita). You gotta make sure the PS4 is set as your primary. Please note that this subreddit is not affiliated with Sony or any of its subsidiaries. Most suspected the electronics giant would simply issue a cease and desist letter considering the fact that his app is based on code that Sony wrote. As of now, Sony's official PS4 Remote Play app only works with the Vita and a select few Android smartphones.Ī reaction from Sony isn't all that surprising, especially considering the fact that Twisted's PC app isn't free (it sells for 6.50 GBP or roughly $9.78). His PC app is actually a port of an Android version he previously created. On Wednesday, the indie developer released a modified version of Sony's PS4 Remote Play for PC that he has been working on for the past year. Some people asked if we plan to provide Remote Play function to PC, and yes, we are indeed working on an official application for PC/Mac. It's unclear if Sony was already working on the app or if the unofficial version from Twisted prompted the decision. Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony's Worldwide Studios for Sony Computer Entertainment, revealed via Twitter that his company is working on an official version of Remote Play for PC and Mac. After releasing a version of PS4 Remote Play for PC, a Sony executive issued a response - one that's sure to put a smile on the face of many. Indie developer Twisted certainly got Sony's attention this week.
